TNNA June ’11 Trade Show

The National Needlearts Association’s summer trade show was held June 11-13 in Columbus, Ohio. This market officially marked one year since we launched Pischke Pockets! With new accounts opened, trunk shows booked and orders from our loyal stockists, Pischke Pockets continues to be a hit in the needlepoint world.

As the weather warms, many needlepoint stores have found that Pischke Pockets are just what their customers want to stitch! Last month, Old World Designs in Menlo Park, CA had great success with their Pischke Pocket trunk show. This past Saturday, Yarns of Wilmington in Wilmington. NC showcased the entire line of PP needlepoint kits and currently, Churchmouse Yarns & Teas in Bainbridge Island, WA is hosting a Pischke Pockets trunk show.

Looking forward to June, Pischke Pockets will attend the TNNA summer market in Columbus, Ohio where needlework shops from around the country will attend to buy for their stores.

On June 21, we are hosting a “Pischke Pocket Party” on Bald Head Island, NC. Sign up to join us for a day of needlepoint, pocket attachment lessons and to learn about the sea turtle preservation efforts of the BHI Conservancy.

Also, on June 25th catch us at Adornment Needlepoint in Winston-Salem, NC where the entire collection of Pischke Pocket Needlepoint Kits will be available for purchase and Lacy Pischke will be on hand to answer any questions. Needlepoint Retreat in Key West

Pischke Pockets hosted it’s first needlepoint retreat March 4-6 in Key West, FL! Set above the historic La Concha Hotel, Julie and Lacy Pischke taught thread use, decorative stitches and how to create a pocket with your finished needlepoint. Claudia McClean from Claudia’s Hand Painted Yarns made a special appearance to showcase her beautiful yarns and talk about her unique dyeing process. Class participant’s also received a PP needlepoint kit designed exclusively for the class and inspired by Key West. A wonderful time was had by all!

Lacy Pischke of Pischke Pockets visited New York last week and stopped into area needlepoint shops including Pins & Needles at 1045 Lexington Avenue on the second floor. Pins & Needles is a wonderful new shop that inspires everyone who enters their door to stitch and create. Shop owner, Rachel Low, and Lacy held and event Friday afternoon to demonstrate basic needlepoint stitches and the pocket attaching process. If you are in New York, stop into Pins & Needles to pick up a Pischke Pocket needlepoint kit. The perfect accessory for a summer in the Hamptons!

Winter Needlepoint Trade Show

Pischke Pockets traveled to Long Beach, California for the TNNA Winter Trade Show. Our needlepoint kits were a success on the West Coast! You’re invited to a Pischke Pocket Party in Key West, Florida March 4-6, 2011.

Instructed by Julie Pischke herself, you will learn:

* Background and decorative stitches to enhance the look of your Pischke Pocket

* How to attach your finished needlepoint as a pocket onto your bag

* How to personalize your bag with different closure options, including, buttons, crochet loops, and braids

Choose your class day, either Friday, March 4 or Saturday, March 5.

On Sunday, March 6, meet in the courtyard of Julie’s needlepoint shop, Island Needlework, to stitch, chat, or review class topics.

Cost for the weekend is $375/person.

Included in the cost:

* A Pischke Pocket kit designed exclusively for the class

* The opportunity to learn from the designer and creator of PP
